John Higgins will take on Chinese starlet Yan Bingtao in the Masters Snooker final on Sunday – with the winner pocketing a £250,00 prize.
The wizard of Wishaw, who beat Ronnie O’Sullivan in the quarter-finals, edged past David Gilbert tonight in the last four to set up a clash with the 20-year-old Chinese sensation.
Bingtao, who came from behind to beat defending champion Stuart Bingham 6-5 in his semi-final and is making his debut in the tournament, will be bidding to stop Higgins from claiming a third Masters crown after victories in 1999 and 2006.
