Lewis Hamilton set to receive knighthood after winning historic seventh F1 title

Lewis Hamilton is set to be awarded a knighthood in the New Year’s Honours list.

The record-breaking seven time Formula One World Champion is set to receive the highest honour from the Queen as he continues to thrive as one of the UK’s greatest sportsman in history.

The 35-year-old, who has continued to support the Black Lives Matter movement in highlighting human rights issues across the globe, had previously noted what an honour it would be.

He said earlier this year: “I think when I think about that honour, I think about people like my grandad who served in the war, I think about Sir Captain Tom who got knighted and waited a hundred years for that incredible honour.”
